Hi, I'm Dave Arthur and I've been building and repairing bikes since 1991, when I bought my first Mountain Bike to explore the Surrey Hills area near Dorking.
I entered cross-country and Downhill races and quickly found that my bike needed regular maintenance and repair!
Fast-forward to 2016, when I decided to get formally qualified as a bicycle mechanic, having worked in IT for too many years.. and, following my City and Guilds qualification, I decided to set up CogDog in 2017.
Since then I have provided mechanical support to well-established bike-tour and event companies like 'Just Pedal', 'Beyond Events' and 'Browns Bikes' and I've worked on some great events like Lands-End to John O'Groats (LEJOG), London to Brighton, Corporate Days, Charity Rides and Training Rides, in the UK, France and Spain.
I trained and qualified (IMI) to work on E-Bikes and electronic gear systems, in 2019.
I still ride my old Kona, Maglitech and Whyte 46 mountain bikes (26" Wheels!) and I've also been a keen road-rider since 2008, but Mountain-Biking is still favourite!
